In observance of Classified School Employees Week, Superintendent Michelle King has released a new video expressing her gratitude to the more than 26,000 workers dedicated to keeping students safe and schools clean and orderly.
In the video the sixth in her “Direct Connect” series – the 30-year L.A. Unified veteran honors the cafeteria, office and maintenance workers, school police, bus drivers, library aides and other Classified employees who serve and support the District.
“They are the unsung heroes whose dedication make every successful school day possible,” Dr. King said. “Without them, we could not achieve our goal to provide every student with a quality education in a safe and nurturing environment.”
During its meeting earlier this month, the Board of Education declared May 21-27 as Classified School Employee Week, in recognition of classified employees’ contributions and dedicated service to the District.
